Hi and welcome to Erin’s Eatery! My name is Erin, and I have recently begun
the transition into eating clean.
By day (and sometimes night as well), I’m a college writing instructor in the Washington, D.C. area. Last semester, I had the amazing opportunity to teach a themed writing course. My theme? Food Culture in America. I had a fantastic class full of talented writers from every corner of the world, and one of the conclusions we came to was that America is very much lacking in a real food culture. After spending a semester reading Michael Pollan, Julia Child, and a plethora of other food and culture writers, I was feeling inspired to change my approach to food. After a few months of culinary meandering, I re-discovered the clean eating movement, not a “diet,” but really a way of eating and living.
